Cynthia is passionate about living Christian values in everyday life - especially in the world of work. She is accountable to these values in what she does and says. She is happy to be called out when she gets it wrong...and she does. Cynthia help young people find career opportunities that are future proofed. She is especially interested in encouraging diversity into the technology sector.Cynthia has a Masters in Career Management from the University of London, a Bachelor's degree in IT from QUT and is a QCT registered secondary teacher specialising in Computing.Cynthia has had various roles with middle and senior leadership within education. However finds the front line of teaching the most rewarding, and exhausting. She is regularly called upon within education to grow student enrolments and participation in technology-based subjects and working with career advisors and parents, who are important influencers of career decisions amongst young people. She has been a Director of Innovation and Enterprise within schools and has led the way in EdTech both in Australia and the UK.Most recently Cynthia has been a speaker at various conferences being an evangelists for greater balanced representation in our futures industries. Cynthia has written a peer reviewed paper on the “factors associated with girls choosing to studying technology-based subjects in their middle and senior years of schooling”. This paper was presented at several conferences both in Australia and in the UK and Cynthia has been invited to speak at the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools in Cleveland Ohio, USA in June 2023; speaking about how Esport can help encourage girls enter the world of technology as a career choice, challenging the narrative. Cynthia was also guest host and session interviewer for an EdTech conference with over 150 industry experts. She has also been a guest speaker PAX, and EduTech conferences in Melbourne, and countless other events across Australia. In 2024 Cynthia was invite by Meta to speak in Perth to educators on how XR provides an excellent pedagogy shift in schools, especially with students who are neurodivergent. Cynthia was also named a finalist in two categories of the Women In Technology awards.Cynthia thanks God for all she has experienced, and knows that all this is not real.
