As founder and managing director of Kernow Kampers Hire Ltd I have established the company from scratch to an internationally recognised brand known as a market leader in the motorhome rental sector. Specialising in catering to foreign tourists visiting the UK, we have formed a reputation for offering excellent experiences in top quality vehicles and receive bookings from a lot of German, Irish and Dutch customers.The company has attracted national coverage, firstly for our unique "minidub" vehicles, sourced and imported from Japan allowing under 25's to enjoy a campervan holiday without the insurance restrictions usually encountered. Secondly, our all-inclusive, one way tours were innovative enough to be awarded significant support from ERDF grants and assistance from the Department of International Trade. Particular strengths within this role include an excellent strategic overview of ways to maintain growth, successful highly targeted social media campaigns, successful grant applications and the constant introduction of innovative new additions to keep Kernow Kampers ahead of the field. After moving to expanded premises to accommodate the growing fleet of motorhomes rented out by Kernow Kampers Hire Ltd I also founded Kernow Klean, a hand car wash, valeting and smart repair facility.I'm responsible for the management and running of the company. Managing staff, running social media campaigns, monitoring finances and actively pursuing new leads to further build our amount of market share.The company is proud of the fact we actively recruit school leavers and offer apprenticeship roles where applicable. We aim to provide sufficient guidance and support so that every apprentice feels able to establish their own company in whichever sector interests them once completing their course.

Starting as a classroom teacher I quickly climbed the career ladder and took ownership of several whole-school and county wide initiatives. Spearheading developments in Gifted and Talented provision, secondary based nurture groups, introducing ICT initiatives and developing programmes of study to ensure pupils reached their full potential within the PLTS framework.Recognised as innovative and inspirational I worked with schools across the county ensuring the quality of science and ICT provision was maximised. A particular highlight was leading a working party that went on to implement a common VLE across every school in the county.I also worked with a range of partners on educational programmes. For example assisting to develop a range of workshops for the Natural History Museum and being involved in the interviewing and training of PGCE students within local universities.
