Throughout my time at Doudney Sheet Metal Works, I have grown into a highly skilled assistant technician who can do everything from fabrication, to welding, to field installation, to customer service, to CAD design, etc. Day to day, I am entrusted with working on high pressure jobs that require precision and focus. I am able to read engineering diagrams and create fine pieces of work from blank sheets of metal, as well as carry myself highly and safely on job sites. I have had to work with numerous general contractors on site in order to make sure the work I install is done so precisely and safely. At Doudney, I went from barely being able to tell the difference between types of metal to being entrusted with full jobs, showing how teachable I am and how well I listen to those who I know are more skilled than myself. Here, I also learned how to stick and MIG weld, both vital skills for any engineering application. Overall, working at Doudney has allowed me to develop into an all around, highly skilled employee who understands what hard work and dedication can do for a company.

During my experience as a host, I learned key social skills through interaction with a wide variety of customers. I learned how to de-escalate tension and customers who were agitated with their experience at the restaurant. Greeting customers and creating a friendly environment for families were vital roles that I played as a host. As a food runner, I learned how to keep a sanitary work station and how to deal with a large amount of stress and pressure during rush hours over spring break. As a busboy, I learned how to delegate tasks that were given to me by my superiors, and creating conversation with customers was another key role in creating an uplifting dining experience.
