Worked on a team of biologists to monitor pollution levels in the Ohio River. Proficient in sampling procedures, boat hauling and launching, and working closely with crew-mates in all weather conditions and hours. As the program administrator, I oversaw many aspects of the Tufts Institute of the Environment. First, I ensured that the programs offered by the institute are operating efficiently and effectively. Such programs include the Water: Systems, Science & Society graduate certificate program, the TIE Environmental Research Fellowship program, the Water Diplomacy program, the Tufts Environmental Alumni network, and the Research Opportunities for Graduate and Undergraduate Exchange program. Furthermore, I oversaw the efforts of 7 interns, maintain financial information and processing, and guarantee good communication with partners online and off. The Tufts Institute of the Environment is a central office at Tufts University, aimed at connecting students and faculty across all Tufts schools with effective environmental programming and research opportunities.

As a program coordinator at the Tufts Institute of the Environment, I was charged with coordinating the "Water: Systems, Science, and Society" graduate certificate program. My roles included administrative support, website management, newsletter production, and program coordination. In particular, I coordinated the administration of the WSSS Graduate Certificates for May 2014 graduates, organized networking luncheons, updated the WSSS Student Handbook and website, and communicated with WSSS Steering Committee members and WSSS students.

I completed an MA program at Tufts University's Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning department in addition to completing the "Water: Systems, Science, and Society" graduate certificate program. I worked one-on-one with undergraduate and graduate student clients on developing solutions to academic-related issues, including time management, procrastination, motivation, sleep habits, test anxiety, and study strategies.Through this position, I received more than 40 hours of training on maintaining confidentiality, working with students with learning disabilities, ADHD, suicide intervention, and learning styles.

I received a competitive research grant through the Tufts University "Water: Systems, Science, and Society" program to study the impact of water on the development and current economy of Hot Springs, Arkansas. The study included a visit to Hot Springs and discussions with staff at Hot Springs National Park, the historical society, the chamber of commerce, the office of tourism, and passersby. The product of the study included presentations at Tufts University, a 25-page written report, and a poster session.

I worked closely with environmental scientists at the Sanitation District No. 1 of Northern Kentucky (SD1) to help collect and process water samples from waterways across northern Kentucky. The work required data hygiene; attention to detail; understanding of non-point source pollution; operation and maintenance of seines, water quality probes, collection containers, level-loggers, and D-nets; and the supervision of undergraduate interns.

As an AmeriCorps member, I recruited, interviewed, and trained new volunteers to tutor and mentor high school students at one of Colorado Youth for a Change's affiliated schools. I also maintained communications with current volunteers, produced a volunteer newsletter, and organized a volunteer appreciation celebration.As an academic tutor, I mentored high school students at Denver's West High School and at the Futures Academy in Aurora, CO. I facilitated the West High School summer school courses in Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Sciences.

With the Nonprofit Energy Efficiency Program, I provided educational support for agencies receiving energy efficiency upgrades. Educational support included conducting trainings for staff during professional development meetings on how to change behaviors in the workplace and home to decrease energy consumption and decrease program overhead. I maintained communication with around 40 agencies in our program across Colorado and inspected many facilities undergoing energy efficiency retrofits. Finally, I produced end-of-project reports for many projects that were completed in 2011. This position required understanding of the Colorado Public Utilities Commission policies and the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
