The Industrial Department within HITE is an multidisciplinary team of mechanical and electrical professional engineers offering a variety of specialized safety engineering services ranging from consultation to design and site support.Some of our services include: Pre-Start Health & Safety Reviews, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Hazard & Operability Studies (HAZOP), Hazardous Area Classifications, support for compliance with Ontario Regulations (O. Reg. 851: Industrial Establishments, and O. Reg. 213/07: Ontario Fire Code), turnkey machine safeguarding solutions, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).My responsibilities include managing the work flow, team resources, and client base for the Industrial Department on a whole. Primarily I act as a coordinator for the team, planning our the overall workflow and providing support on any active projects our team is committed to.On a day-to-day basis I balance a workload of client communications, pricing and scoping new projects, forecasting, team management, and providing consulting services on any of my personal projects.

Starting as a junior consultant I was tasked with developing my technical knowledge through extensive self-learning, retaining information from more senior engineers, and finding ways to add value to the company.While in this position I provided support to a broad client base with respect to industrial safety assessments. These assessments typically related to machine safeguarding, Pre-Start Health & Safety Reviews, and Hazardous Area Classifications. The projects generally required direct communication with clients, on-site inspections, documentation review, and technical report writing.Throughout my time in this position I gained proficiency with various Ontario Regulations and relevant Canadian and International safety standards, including: Ontario Regulations 851 (Industrial Establishments) and 213/07 (Ontario Fire Code), CSA standards B335, B354.6, Z432, Z434, NFPA standards 30, 68, 69, 79, 91, 497, 499, 652. and ISO standards 13849 and 14120.

I was responsible for managing the development of the equipment used to optimize the application of MetaFLO's solidification reagents. I worked to develop innovative solutions through the use of CAD, in-house and field testing, as well as industry collaboration. I personally produced all of MetaFLO's 3D models, site renderings, technical drawings, and supported the education of the team regarding our mechanical solutions.A major project completed during my time at MetaFLO was the LMS 400 PnP; a complete solution package designed around the LMS 400 (displayed in the attached pictures).

I worked as part of an on-site engineering team managing the construction of a combined cycle powerplant south of Sarnia, Ontario. I supervised the installation of the plant's large bore water cooling system as well as assisted in overseeing the installation of other key pieces of equipment. I supported the P.Eng. team through design validation, document management, scheduling, and procurement.
