Modus Institute provides online coursework and provides opportunities for community engagement in creating and promoting humane systems of collaborative work. At Modus Institute, we focus on building the right environment for professionals to be professional. Coursework is built on four pillars: Bold Solutions; Visual First; Serious Community; and Humanely Professional. Modus Institute is home to the Personal Kanban course created by Jim Benson and Tonianne DeMaria. As a faculty member, I provide student cohorts with guidance and instruction in engaging in and completing the Personal Kanban Course. I'm also an active contributor and collaborator in the Modus Community, engaging with students and members of the community to bring them nuanced perspectives and lived experience in embracing Lean Agile Visual Management techniques to nonprofit organizations and beyond.

Provide senior leadership as supervising manager for Applications, GIS, and Records Management. Responsible for strategic IT planning for all developed applications and integrations. Apply clear and concise direction to staff that aligns with Collin County’s Strategic Plan. Manage multiple large, enterprise-wide projects and deliver on-time and within budget. Responsible for budgeting, design and 2nd tier level support for all IT developed applications, GIS and Records.Key Results:• Directly responsible for application development, second-tier application support, Collin County’s Website, GIS, Rural Addressing and Records Management. • Hire and manage supervisors and staff (25 FTEs) for the Applications, GIS and Records areas.• Effectively introduced and implemented Agile and Scrum as a development and management tool (Nov 2011). Successfully completed many projects while adhering to Agile principles. Received many accolades since adopting Scrum as an application development management technique.• Author of Collin County IT’s Change Management process.• National Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO). • Fostered a teamwork/open-door environment conducive to positive dialogue across the organization. • Nurtured a work environment that allows staff to learn/teach/grow as part of their jobs without intervening - often described as “watering the garden.”
