-As A graduate student in the lab of Dr. Natasha Raikhel, I study endomembrane trafficking in the model system Arabidopsis thaliana.- I am trying to understand the cellular connection between endomembrane trafficking an abiotic stress. -I am pursuing this by using a combination of classical genetics, chemical genetics, engineering, image analysis, and molecular biology. - My pursuits in the Raikhel lab have resulted in a paper on chemical biology and a poster at the 2011 ASPB Plant Biology conference as well as a presentation at the 2012 Midwest Plant cell biology conference.

- I completed an undergraduate research project in Dr. Harley Smith's lab where I studied meristem the molecular mechanisms of maintenance and the vegetative to floral transition. - To complete this project I used techniques such as in situ hybridization to visualize the expression domains of meristem identity genes and classical genetics techniques to determine the role of two transcription factors in the vegetative to reproductive transition. - My work resulted in three papers, two of which I was first author of. My Work in the Smith lab also earned the Center for Plant cell Biology's Neil Campbell outstanding undergraduate researcher award.

While at Pioneer, I was a member of the Applied Genomics and Technologies Division as a member of the Spectroscopy group. While there, I used image analysis techniques coupled with Hyperspectral imaging to increase product development pipeline efficiency.
