Develop and Edit 6-12 Social Studies curriculum as part of the Library for the upcoming Traverse platform.Determine the copyright status of both StudySync and Traverse sources and seek permission from rightsholders as needed.Build and maintain tools to track the status of each licensed title across both platforms, identifying licenses that are nearing term or user thresholds.Research source provenance using online, public, and academic libraries as well as a wide variety of government resources.Create tools to assist team members across departments to assess the copyright status of individual titles.Establish necessary steps of action for a given project, track progress using Smartsheet, Google, and Adobe suite, and complete projects assigned within set deadlines.Research and collaborate with staff and freelance employees across departments to identify and create sources that exemplify and reinforce concepts and skills within the chapter manuscript.Establish relationships withing the licensing departments of industry publishers.

As an instructional designer I have created educator resources for PBS Learning Media on behalf of the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) and Kansas City PBS.My work for NETA involves working directly with the content creator to develop a lesson plan that not only connects with the student, but also aligns with state and national standards while building student understanding and interaction with key concepts featured within the film and encouraging a deeper exploration of these concepts individually. The lesson plans attached below, "Selected to Serve, Driven to Dissent" were part of NETA and AASLH award-winning Kansas City programming.

At Raytown South I created lesson plans and led instruction as a part of the Social Studies Department. I am an excellent problem solver and enjoy thinking outside of the box to find unique solutions to issues as they arise. I am an early adopter of technology, trying to find new and interesting ways to hook students into a lesson with every new tool I can find. I am self-motivated and organized, and always look for another way to improve my teaching.As a part of the Ray South team, I have analyzed pre- and post- assessment data to identify specific ways to improve curriculum and classroom instruction, resulting in a consistent increase in EOC assessment scores over 4 straight years coming into Spring 2020.With the new challenges faced since Spring 2020 I integrated new technologies into daily student activities, and adapted our existing curriculum into virtual lessons. Making use of Google Classroom, Zoom, Nearpod, Actively Learn, ICivics, Edulastic, Socrative, and many other tools I was able to lead virtual, hybrid, and in-person classrooms.
