At Hands Pakistan, I am interning as a social worker to improve the quality of life of marginalized and vulnerable people across Pakistan. I work closely with a senior social worker to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate community development projects. My role requires frequent visits to various field sites where I interact with local communities, stakeholders, and partners to better understand their specific. I am responsible for mobilizing communities and empowering them to take charge of their development. During times of emergencies or disasters, I also assist in distributing donations and relief items to beneficiaries. Furthermore, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the intricate cultural, historical, and political factors that impact social issues and development goals in Pakistan.

For three months, I had the opportunity to work as a graphic design and information technology instructor at Nowpdp, a nonprofit organization that empowers people with disabilities. It was a rewarding and enriching experience, as I got to train special adults in various skills and tools that they can use to express themselves and earn a living. I taught them how to create logos, flyers, posters, websites, and other digital products using software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and WordPress. I also taught them how to communicate, collaborate, and access information using the internet, email, social media, and online platforms. I helped them develop their creativity, confidence, and self-esteem through interactive and engaging sessions. I also assisted them with finding employment opportunities or starting their own businesses in the graphic design and IT sector. I learned a lot from working with the special adults and was inspired by their resilience, enthusiasm, and potential.

Digital Media Officer: Secured a prestigious position as a digital media officer for the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA) by Regional English Language Office (RELO) Pakistan, a state department funded project, after a rigorous interview process with the CEO and the Department of State diplomats. Led the digital media strategy and execution for not only TEA but also other innovative programs such as E-Teacher, E-Teacher Plus, and Pata Bata Program. Oversaw social media, graphics design, video editing, and communications between CEO and program manager. Embarked on an adventurous journey across Pakistan with the program manager to document the grant activities in all provinces, including Kashmir and areas near LOC. Overcame challenging weather conditions such as land sliding, snowing, and high altitudes. Managed camera equipment and pre and post production of video stories. Facilitated video lectures of PhD professors in NUML University and Kashmir Read Foundation. Earned a part time opportunity to work for US Mission Pakistan as a digital media officer based on my excellent performance and great results. Showcased my skills, creativity, resilience, and professionalism in a high-risk environment.
