Nomiki Konst is a Greek-American political analyst and journalist currently finishing her first feature film documentary focused on Puerto Rico, cryptocurrency and democracy, which began in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Maria. She recently directed and co-produced an advocacy media series titled “Losing Puerto Rico,” focused on pressuring US Congress to abolish Act 22. She was recently the host of “The Nomiki Show” an in-depth show highlighting movement work of labor and marginalized communities, as well as organizing strategies from around the globe. She was also known as contributor to “The Majority Report.” When Konst is not working in media, she spends her time as board director of Matriarch Org, which is dedicated to training, recruiting and supporting working class women to all levels of office. In light of Proud Boys announcing their runs for office, Matriarch trained over 500 women to run for office from school board to Congress in 2022.Previously, Konst was an investigative reporter and correspondent for TYT and host of “The Filter” on SiriusXM Progress, a three-hour, daily political interview show. She was a political analyst for CBSn and contributed almost daily on CNN and Fox News and other news channels. Konst studied investigative reporting at direction of Wayne Barrett, the notorious, award-winning reporter who covered Donald Trump’s first real estate dealings and whose 40+ years of reporting took down the corrupt. The two worked on The Accountability Project focusing on NY politics in the wake of the media crisis in the early aughts, and produced a 5 part podcast on NY political corruption.Konst has covered local, and international movements and injustices - from Flint’s water crisis to Puerto Rico to Standing Rock, to inside the Democratic National Committee finances and NYS Senate fights, to UK Labour and EU progressive movements, as well as deeper investigative work into disaster capitalism and conflicts of interests.After the 2016 election, Sen. Bernie Sanders appointed Konst to the 21 member DNC Unity and Reform Commission, tasked to transform, open up and reform the Democratic Party. In 2016 and 2020 she served as a national surrogate for Bernie Sanders for President and on the DNC Platform Committee. In 2012, Konst was a national Co-Chair for President Obama’s re-election. Konst is a polyglot who has lived and worked across the world, including in Greece, Mexico, France and Libya. Konst has worked at the intersection of politics and media for over 20 years.
