• Overall responsibility for the strategic development and manufacturing process improvement of class II medical devices.• Driving standards within the business through implementation of statistical process control techniques and quality validation.• Project management of strategic research and development programs to address problem products or processes and implement cost effective process solutions.• Responsible for the development and validation of analytical test methods (both chemical and microbiological), for QC/QA purposes using HPLC and microbiological plate assay• Key responsibility for delivering new laboratory protocols and best practice techniques utilising process validation, operational qualification and lean manufacturing.• Responsible for the specification and purchasing of high capital value laboratory instruments and equipment. • Formulation of freeze dried products and process optimisation of controls for high yield in production environments.• Organising staff training and setting goals for production process development and improvement.• Responsible for installation and operational qualification of production plant.

• Leading R&D teams in the development of new diagnostic tests, to facilitate product effectiveness using HPLC, Gas Chromatography, Ion Chromatography and Electrochemical Detection.• Determining and implementing manufacturing process optimisation using techniques such as Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Lean Manufacture and 5S.• Responsible for the development and manufacturing optimisation of freeze dried products.• Improving the expertise and knowledge of laboratory staff through the delivery of training requirements.• Participated in annual ISO 9001 and FDA audits to achieve successful business qualification.• Responsible for the selection and purchasing of laboratory analytical equipment• Responsible for organizing the installation and operational qualification for laboratory instruments as well as service contracts.
