A significant part of my role involves contract drafting, vetting, negotiation, legal opinion writing and conducting thorough legal research. Possess sound knowledge of financial sector laws, including FAIS, GCoC, FICA, FSRA, PFA, CISCA, LTIA, STIA, PPRs, IA, ITA, POPIA, PAIA, EEA, B-BBEE, and the Financial Sector Code. Responsibilities include conducting financial and non-financial regulatory research, analysing and unpacking regulations published in South Africa and Namibia. The role involves daily monitoring and unpacking of regulatory changes. Experienced in summarizing, communicating and conducting an impact assessment of regulatory changes. Skilled in building and maintaining regulatory universes, drafting monthly regulatory reports, preparing regulatory comments, and tracking submissions. Highly experienced in drafting and providing legal opinions, fostering internal stakeholder relationships, and managing ad hoc research projects.

Sound knowledge of the Films and Publications Act 65 of 1996 (as amended), its regulations, and classification guidelines. Experienced in conducting legal research, with exposure to mediation and arbitration proceedings. Involved in community outreach initiatives and external stakeholder engagements, including drafting and amending regulations. Skilled in risk management training, monitoring and evaluating regulatory alerts, and drafting correspondence for external stakeholders. Proficient in report writing, policy reviews, and developing legal compliance registers. Practical insight into SLA and MOU drafting, as well as the management and monitoring of related registers. Familiar with Appeals Tribunal procedures.

Experienced in civil court proceedings, including lower court appearances for motion proceedings, pre-trials, and trials. Proficient in drafting pleadings and legal opinions, with hands-on experience shadowing counsel on brief and managing case files. Skilled in liaising with external stakeholders and consulting with clients. Practical exposure to disputes involving unlawful arrests and detention, land claims, medical negligence, labor matters, and motor vehicle accidents (MVA).

Experienced in observing criminal and civil court proceedings, managing court files, and assisting in the consultation process.

Completed Trial Advocacy training and actively participate in community outreach initiatives. Skilled in building and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
