- To investigate and select the best technology which is commercially free to replace the existing 3D window with the new easily up datable 3D window in the GSI3D software.- The Technologies to be looked at are JOGL (Java OpenGL) and VTK(Visualization Toolkit) Java Binding. - OUTCOME: Two prototypes were developed for the 3D Window, one in OpenGL and second in VTK. Both the prototypes are to be considered for the development in the next software modelling generation.- To find a way to passively extract social media content posted without any knowledge of BGS's search for information.- Review all the social media APIs and provide a single source of social media gathered information that extends beyond Twitter channel that is currently used by BGS.- Investigate the ways of extracting knowledge from the social media content gathered.- OUTCOME: Found out and learned the working of crowd sourcing platform called CrowdFlower and developed a program using Twitter4J to extract tweets from twitter based on the search term and write those tweets to excel file (.xlsx file) which can be uploaded to Crowdflower. Also developed a program to demonstrate the twitter streaming API using Twitter4J.
