Throughout this experience, I learned to analyze and summarize research papers on the cell cycle and cellular replication stress to have a clearer understanding of the effects of cancer therapy drugs. I then collected extensive data on the cell's division timing (moment following septation) under varying treatments (inhibiting and increasing cell growth)..

During this co-op term, I assisted the integration of the Epic healthcare system throughout UHN sites. By working in a team, I contributed to auditing various equipment such as desktops, Rover phones and WoWs at Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, and Toronto Rehab Centre. Additionally, I practiced using Epic PLY and learned general.

As part of the marketing and media team, I participated in meetings with the team to brainstorm for upcoming Charity Week events, the merchandise launch, Rise to Relief, and other programs. I also created a painting that was auctioned during the charity week Silent Auction. Throughout the semesters, I developed videos for social media accounts promoting.

I firstly completed feeding training according to the governmental and health protocols to ensure resident safety. I then collaborated with the nurses during scheduled eating times, to assist with feeding residents with conditions such as dementia. During planned activities such as church service, I guided and cared for the resident I was assigned.

During the co-op term, I observed various animal procedures such as routine dental cleanings, ultrasounds and a lump removal surgery. I assisted the pre- and post-op process by arranging and cleaning the surgery room and equipment used. I independently organized syringes, medications, surgery, anesthesia, and euthanasia forms by date, and disposed of.

I provided customer service to families looking to sign up for the program and answered their questions. I also assisted with administrative support, through the organization of forms, printing of student’s class work, while efficiently communicating in Arabic and English with co-workers.

As a volunteer, I often worked in teams to prepare and discuss upcoming civic events. I also participated in organizing events by helping with seating placements and food display, to host diverse community members. Speeches were organized in teams with other volunteers to present speakers to the community during the International Woman's Day event.
