Transforming high-velocity transactional experiences

I had a dual role of leading product design and as a product owner for Scotiabank's online trading and wealth management platform serving clients of Scotia iTRADE, ScotiaMcLeod, International Investment Advisory, Private Investment Counsel, and Scotiatrust. My job entailed a broad range of activities from the strategic conception of digital platform innovations all the way to delivering stock trading and wealth management experiences to our clients. My final effort was focused on re-imagining a modern self directed trading and wealth management experience for Scotiabank.

I lead mixed team of UX designers, project leads, and business analysts in Wealth for end client experience for Scotia iTRADE, ScotiaMcLeod, Private Investment Counsel, and Scotiatrust. I also managed mobile experience and apps for advisors (acquisition and management of mobile devices, mobile apps, virtual office capabilities such as remote desktop).

My primary responsibility was to lead and maintain online design for Scotia iTRADE and other wealth businesses (HollisWealth, ScotiaMcLeod, Private Investment Counsel, Scotiatrust). In addition, my team and I designed innovative iOS apps for financial advisors and sales teams, and reimagined the client onboarding for Scotia iTRADE clients.

I guided a 50+ year old small business, a Montreal Florist brand through a challenging journey of surviving the digital world. Started as a webmaster in 1999, redesigning their site in 2002, building their eCommerce platform in 2005, getting their search engine rankings up to top spots, managing the product, evolving the digital strategy, owning a portion of the business, and finally watching as ownership changed in the end of 2019.

While working for primary client, online sports betting site Betus.com, I wore multiple hats in a company with whose biggest client was a prominent Sportsbook. My primary responsibility was managing developers for the online platform, leading the front-end UI development, and designing a number of their internal applications (transaction management, CRM, Ticketing system, CMS, contact campaign management, affiliate & referral management, ad campaign management). I was prolific in converting executive desires to fully fleshed out products that were deployed to clients and other end users (this was a very involved exercise of coordination, imagination, and delivery).

Started as an all around web designer working on many applications for a sportsbook that were both internal and external. My biggest work in the early years was focused on the sports betting experience, turning a multi-page flow into a single page application. I also single handedly maintained a significant number of white labeled sites.

Multiple freelance roles as a web designer typically for small businesses, non-profit causes, and institutions, being part of the surviving through gigs economy.

- Wrote grant proposals, interviewed sex-workers, visited target-group field sites, taught English to organization employees, facilitated the language barrier between Canadian interns and Bangladeshi workers, helped translate outreach worker training manuals, copy edited English documentation in the HIV/AIDS office, copy edited newly constructed website - Helped in the development of an accessible website for the organization (www.ypsa.org)

- Managed website of (at that time) Canada's largest university career centre (McGill Career & Placement Service). I redesigned it, added dynamic functions like calendars and counselling session signups, migrated a library index, re-imagined the architecture, designed for accessibility, and much more. - Designed tons of printed materials such as brochures, several newsletters, and signage- Developed a brand experience for the career centre that I used throughout the web and print design work

Was the web designer and webmaster responsible for the main student body's website of McGill University

Ran a web design proprietorship with two other partners.

- Programmed functionality for an online full Flash portfolio of a fashion and ethnographic photographer- Implemented & designed transition effects, sound effects, site navigation, sequential image loading, and other features using Action Script in Flash 5- The final product (likely not retaining much of my work) was created by a large design firm from New York, which went on to win the Communication Arts Magazine's interactive annual award , can still be accessed in www.eccentris.com

Constructed 4 websites on: online seasonal shopping catalog, business self-promotion, local Mediterranean cafe, & interface for a high traffic web portal
