Strategically planned, managed and executed focal outreach events, including a canoe and kayak race with over 35 participants and 20 volunteers. Managed website and social media accounts, increasing user engagement. Aided in active cottonwood restoration project and collected survival study data for over 200 trees. Saved in project costs through volunteer recruitment, community sponsorship, and donations.

Throughout my time at the General Mercantile, I have received a promotion and multiple pay raises. I have worked on and off throughout the years as my school schedule has allowed. I have been recognized as a valuable employee and continue to receive the opportunity to return to work part-time when I am available, and in town. This position has allowed me to develop valuable interpersonal skills such as effective communication, dependability, and flexibility.

Participated in a 6-week educational field studies program. Investigated the ecology and biodiversity of Chile's Los Lagos region. Learned to identify over 65 species of native flora and fauna. Gained a working knowledge of various conservation strategies used throughout Chile. Introduced to various field sampling methods including the use of transects, quadrats, and point counts. Developed and carried out an independent research project investigating edge effects on biodiversity in coastal dune habitats.

I completed a senior practicum capstone course in the preparation of a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The course aimed to build bridges between academic learning and professional experience. I worked in a group of my peers to complete a draft EIS for a Multi-Use trail in the City of Monroe, WA. Upon the report's completion, we presented our findings to the City of Monroe. Throughout this experience I:-Developed an understanding of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and how they are implemented-Gained skills working in a team and managing a group-Improved my written and oral communication skills

My duties as a consulting Intern included:-Assisting senior consultants with research-Supporting field staff with wetland delineation-Entering data and transcribing field notes into Excel-Compiling and organizing files within company’s server-Assisting with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assesment (ESA)

-Worked in a group of fellow students to design, develop, conduct, and complete wildlife research in the Elwha River basin-Gained valuable field research experience while developing teamwork and leadership skills-Practiced thoughtful time management in order to complete research in the allotted time periodField Camp offers field research experience to undergraduate students. The program begins with instruction on the research design and field methods that are then implemented throughout the program. I, along with a group of my peers, investigated the relationship between presence of amphibians and multiple wetland habitat characteristics in Olympic National Park. We then presented our findings at WWU's Scholor’s Week. In addition to our personal research projects, we spent a week rafting on the Grand Ronde collecting river bird data and conducting butterfly surveys.
