In this multi-faceted role I enable the use of the Library’s digital collections and data for research, inspiration, creativity and enjoyment and ensure staff have the skills to work confidently and innovatively with our digital collections and data.Recent project highlights include: • Over a decade of experience in managing the design and delivery of the Library’s unique and ground-breaking Digital Scholarship Training Programme (https://www.bl.uk/projects/digital-scholarship-training-programme). Leading a team of five colleagues, with direct management of an administrative assistant, I ensure the smooth delivery of a library-wide programme that supports 1000s of staff members to learn key new skills to support research in a digital age from data wrangling to applications of artificial intelligence in libraries. • Awarded an Institute of Coding (IoC) £222,420 grant with Birkbeck University and The National Archives to co-develop a one-year part-time postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), Computing for Cultural Heritage, as part of a £4.8 million University skills drive. This allowed 20 staff members to acquire a PGCert designation in python programming at no cost but great value to our institution. (https://www.bl.uk/case-studies/computing-for-cultural-heritage-student-projects)• Supported state-of-the-art research into the Automatic Transcription of Historical Handwritten Arabic Texts, and crowdsourcing the transcription of Chinese & Indonesian printed card catalogues in collaboration with academic partners internationally to enable greater access to these valuable collections. (https://www.bl.uk/projects/arabic-htr)• Co-Curator, Beautiful Science: Picturing Data, Inspiring Insight was the Library’s first science exhibition and highlighted modern and historical uses of data visualisation in research and Curator of Growing Knowledge: Evolution of Research Exhibition which explored the future of research in the context of a hypothetical digital reading room.

Develop a full records management programme to be delivered to all departments across the Library, providing individualised solutions and support to common records management issues, while ensuring compliance with information legislation.Resolving document workflow inefficiencies by auditing corporate information exchange and recommending new technology solutions and platforms for adoption. Maintain and develop the Freedom of Information (FOI) Publication Scheme and advise and assist in responding to FOI requests as appropriate.Exemplary projects and engagements:* Developed and delivered a new records management (RM) programme across the Library by providing individualised support to teams, embedding myself within one or two units at a time, learning their business processes in-depth, and giving targeted guidance where it was most acutely beneficial. * Supported Human Resources in a digitisation project to migrate the Library’s personnel files into a new electronic archive system.* Administered the internal SharePoint 2007 platform and oversaw a major migration project from SharePoint 2003.

Developed, wrote and implemented a full Archive and Records Management program for the retention and preservation of the firm’s corporate and creative output in its complex digital and paper forms.Spearheaded a major records management project to digitise over 700 linear feet of in-house documents and drawings that are of legal, contractual, and historical relevancy to the firm. I oversaw the entire Digital Archive programme from writing the requirements documents, to sourcing vendors for the software and hardware, configuring the applications, and managing the 6 member scan team. Provided full and complex reference and information services to a high-profile 200+ employee firm, working with teams both internationally and locally. Performed traditional library services including the collection development of a wide range of print and digital media resources such as books, websites, articles, journals, images and electronic database subscriptions within an intranet system. Acted as Webmaster of the firm's website, working closely with stakeholders to select, edit and post current images and content weekly through a bespoke content management system in line with the firm’s brand.
