The experience I had at Sunfield was a nourishing one for me. I had the experience to deliver assessments, provide psychotherapy like CBT to deal with anxiety, and organize social groups. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a very important parenting modality I learned from Sunfield. I also had the opportunity to apply the knowledge I learned from school and comprehend different theories to understand the world. Because of this internship, I noticed that I like to work with neurodiversity groups and I become passionate to work with teens and young adults who are older than 14 years old.

In this internship, I had experience learning and working with teens who have self-harm thoughts and their families. Assessing their family dynamics and doing bio-psycho-social assessments are essential to understanding their needs. Working in a school setting helps me learn better communication skills because I have to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary professionals to better support the students.
