As a member of the leadership team, I developed and guided the implementation of the new Learning Schools portfolio strategy, which led to over 15 new partnerships with key global school networks. I have supported the co-creation and execution of new EdTech ecosystem initiatives, allowing for innovative collaborations between school networks, EdTech companies and researchers. In my previous role as a program manager, I co-designed with our local team the TRECC program in Côte d’Ivoire selecting and implementing effective pilot-scale education approaches and assessing the potential of impact investment into quality EdTech enterprises in Francophone West Africa. It allowed me to facilitate coordination and nurture joint learnings with the government, the cocoa industry, as well as NGO and research partners. This work resulted in the conceptualization of the first-of-its-kind education pooled funding facility (CLEF) in this geographic context.

With a thematic focus on social accountability and participatory project management, I contributed to internal knowledge management through documentation, and to organizing learning exchanges with donor and local implementation partners from the Global South. I further developed and tested a governance assessment tool for the Nepal office to improve coherence of its internal project accountability processes.

I was a key team member who contributed to the analysis, review and the written and visual presentation of the most comprehensive bi-annual datasets on international migration worldwide. I further held a leading role in preparing and organizing the 2013 UN Ministerial High-level Dialogue on Migration and Development, the first of its kind within the UN system which resulted in an 8-Point Plan for concrete action. I further coordinated activities and thematic priorities in the area of international migration within the United Nations system and IOM

Kampala, Uganda

Through my technical advice and coaching to local civil society projects and the mapping of local grassroots organization working on human rights in the disadvantaged Karamoja district, I was able to contribute to a strengthened civil society support aligned with Irish Aid’s country strategy. I was responsible for managing the Secretariat of the local donor group Partners for Democratisation and Good Governance, thus enabling donor coordination vis-à-vis the Ugandan government. Lastly, I introduced a conflict-sensitive approach to the Irish Aid country programming.

I developed key strategic policies of the Foreign Affairs Department (Protection in the Region, Migration Partnerships) in the area of international migration and refugee policies. As part of this, I strengthened the implementation of a whole-of-government approach on migration at the federal level that included several departments and offices. I held responsibility for conceptualizing and assessing a mapping study on health staff mobility in Switzerland.

I was responsible for developing and implementing the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence data collection process as part of the influx of Iraqi refugees in Syria. Based on this, I led the identification process of the most vulnerable refugee families eligible for social protection funding in the urban context of Damascus.
