Special Education Teacher, Funcitonal Academics And Behavior Program
CurrentDevelop and conduct comprehensive instruction programs for special education students with extensive learning needs, individually and in groups. Assess students and interpret data to develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Consult, collaborate, and co-teach with other teachers and specialists. Provide recommendations regarding necessary supports, modifications, or accommodations for students to participate in the general education curriculum. Coordinate individual student programs to promote access to the core curriculum and to increase independence and functioning in society. Adapt, accommodate, or modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the educational needs of individuals with moderate to severe disabilities and global deficits. Plan and supervise the integration of students in the general education school classroom settings through collaboration and/or consultation with staff and parents as appropriate. Use behavior management strategies and techniques, including behavior modification, reinforcement, and other positive behavior shaping processes.
