Wadi Degla Africa (WD Capital) is an entrepreneurial private equity firm specialized in Africa based investments, with a consolidated target annual revenue of hundreds of millions USD. Within WD Capital, I act as the CFO of Operations where I am responsible for the subsidiaries of WD Capital in the start-up and initial years’ phase. As CFO and member of the executive committee reporting to the board of directors, I handle the financial and risk management operations of the companies, including contributing to the overall strategy of the company, developing a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. The ultimate goal is to create and preserve value for M&A and exist transactions. Additionally, I am in charge of investment banking activities related to WD Capital investments. I am also directly involved in strategy and business development.

Carma Group is the F&B and HORECA arm of Wadi Degla Group in Egypt, with a consolidated topline of EGP 80 MM. Within Carma Group, I acted as the CFO and member of the executive committee reporting to the board of directors where I was responsible for the Carma Holding and three subsidiaries in a financial distress and corporate turnaround phase. I handled the financial and risk management operations of the company and headed the supply chain functions, acting as a de facto CEO throughout the turnaround period. The ultimate goal was to prepare Carma group for M&A transactions.

Egypt for Information Dissemination (EGID) is a joint venture between Egyptian Stock Exchange Market (EGX) and NASDAQ, acting as the sole data disseminator of data relating to EGX and its listed companies in addition to being a software developer and application service provider for brokerage and financial services companies. As Operations Controller and member and secretary of the steering committee, I was responsible for ensuring a high quality working environment and processes, managing the implementation of business guidelines and strategies, supervising ad-hoc projects and contributing strategy and operational practices revisions.

Save the Children International, formerly known as the International Save the Children Alliance, is the world leading organization child rights and welfare organization, operating in over 120 countries. As a Grant Officer, then Finance Manager, of the Cairo Office, I was responsible for the overall accounting and book keeping function, cash flow management and asset safeguarding. Additionally, I was responsible for managing Fund and Donor relation. The role included intermittent contact with children, therefore I had a child safeguarding responsibility.

Wadid Rizkalla & Co. is an Egyptian Audit and Assurance Services Firm affiliated with a Prime Global, and international network covering over 90 countries. Starting out as a staff auditor and reaching the position of Audit and Communication Manger. The scope of my work included auditing and review, financial reporting services, tax services, system assessments and design, establishment and company establishment, mergers and acquisitions, management advisory services, feasibility studies, due diligence services, company valuations and special investigation assignments.
