Research Studentship in the Department of Oncology, BC Cancer, UBC. Supervisor: Dr. Barbara Melosky • Received the BC Cancer Summer Studentship Award to lead the analysis of a study looking at how an ultra-rapid EGFR testing (Idylla Biocartis) improves lung cancer patients’ time to first treatment.• Presented findings to the research team during a MERK and AstraZeneca sponsored dinner talk.

Was awarded the 2020 UBC Faculty of Medicine Summer Student Research Program award. This award was given for me to participate in accessing the efficacy of the GENPAC program, which is an oncologist-initiated genetic testing program with the Hereditary Cancer Program and was spearheaded by the Schrader Labs. Volunteering part-time following full time employment during the summer.

I self-taught QuPath, an Artificial Intelligence software, and created a script to automate the analysis of digitized pathology slides from breast cancer patients. To assess the script’s efficacy, I scanned 200 immunohistochemistry slides and collaborated with pathologists on scoring them.

Casual co-op position with the Department of Medical Oncology at BC Cancer Vancouver. I improved the BCC Lung Cancer Biobank application interface and updated patient data. I contributed to several pathology studies by performing chart reviews, statistical analyses, and co-authored 2 manuscripts. Further, I co-organized a middle school pathology outreach event and published my overall BCC experience in the UBC Pathology Newsletter.

• During online camps due to covid, I lead a team of 5 university students in creating and distributing kits containing all cooking, nutrition, and physical activity materials (more than 50 items per kid for 120 kids).• lead past athletic program for SuperChefs curriculum• Responsible for delivering cooking demonstrations to 20+ youth, led groups of kids in cooking activities, leading physical activities to promote health through food and exercise.

Flavourful Science aims to bring excitement and interest to topics of STEAM. At Flavourful Science, we hope to show that science does not have to be something foreign that is done in a lab, but instead something everyone can do. With the input of renowned educators, we explore important topics of science and relevant real-life applications demonstrated and taught through something everyone is connected to: food. I am a Teaching Assistant for first-year math courses at UBC. I held office hours twice a week and answered students’ questions daily online. I attended meetings on marking and applied what I learned to mark course content. Initially, I utilized directed rubrics but later took initiative and created my own rubrics. Currently, I lead students through workshops.
