Responsible for ensuring a transparent relationship with the Enquiry Committee, including supply of written responses to written questions, transfer of thousands of documents covering a long history and supporting Shell representatives who were questioned by the committee.

Recently I rejoined the Board, after having stepped down in 2014 to be able to meet other obligations. I participate in regular Board meetings where we discuss strategy, finance and events organised by the NL Atlantic Association, with a view to stimulating the debate about transatlantic relations and Dutch foreign policy.

As VP Corporate Communications, I oversaw a diverse range of activities and responsibilities ranging from the external agendas of the CEO and other EC members to working closely with Shell's scenario team on rolling our Shell's New Lens Scenarios. Together, we integrated the global energy-water-food-climate nexus and the concept of resilience into our scenario thinking. My team working with others succeeded in expanding the Powering Progress Together format, a series of events world-wide (Manila, Rotterdam, Abu Dhabi, Rio de Janeiro, etc.) covering future challenges and linked together through social media. We also focused on reputational developments, trends and issues.

Responsible for researching and crafting keynote speeches for CEOs Jeroen van der Veer and Peter Voser and other senior executives including Malcolm Brinded and Linda Cook.

Career diplomat, posted in The Hague and Berlin. In Berlin I served as an exchange diplomat at the German Foreign Ministry for half a year. I spent my last three years back as speechwriter to Foreign Ministers Jaap de Hoop Scheffer (briefly) and Bernard Bot.
