In Professor Russell Foster's research group, as Research Assistant of Associate Professor Aarti Jagannath, I was investigating the role of different signaling pathways in the entrainment of the mammalian circadian master clock, the SCN.

I joined the Mucosal Immunology Group of the Translational Gastroenterology Unit of the Nuffield Department of Medicine to work in a research project discovering the interaction between the intestinal microbiota and the human immune system in inflammatory bowel disease. (I left this position because I received a job offer for a full-time position at the NDCN of Oxford University.)

I was working on basic research projects connected to Human Papilloma Virus-induced cervical carcinogenesis, as well as in clinical studies and diagnostic product development projects related to the discovery of expression biomarkers for improved molecular diagnostics and prognostics of different stages of cervical precancer. Main achievements:• A novel RNA-based panel of cervical cancer biomarkers for triage of HPV-positive patients and for detecting disease progression.• Development of a new point of care Real-time PCR platform with a related assay technology, and a novel microfluidic device for cervical sampling and stabilization of the samples.

This Italian company was an expert in pharmaceutical cleanroom monitoring technologies, installation of biological cleanroom monitoring systems, and particle counters.I was the executive representative of the company and primary customer point of contact in Hungary.My duties:• Proactively seeking potential business opportunities for the company and developing new trust business relationships with the pharmaceutical companies in Hungary• Developing collaboration & influence at QC, QA, and plant director levels within the Pharmaceutical companies, organizing business meetings on the highest level of company management (QC and QA senior management and plant director level)• Acquiring a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements• Provide ongoing feedback to management and marketing, understanding and communicating current market competition, along with field concerns, issues, validation requirements• Preparing regular reports of progress and forecasts• Mediation between the company and the management of the pharmaceutical plant to ensure smooth and efficient design and planning of big monitoring system installment projects • Translation of instrument technical specification documents from English to Hungarian and German

My duties:• Identifying laboratory equipment-, chemicals- and molecular biology kit needs of customers in molecular research labs of universities and other research institutes• Understanding market dynamics, competition and developing new business opportunities• Technical customer service: providing professional advice and solutions for methodical challenges for our customers• Preparing special price quotations for key customers• Preparation of tenders for public procurement and representing the company on tender discussions• Representing the company on business events and conferences• Promoting Service offerings, identifying and escalating commercial service needs• Providing regular reports of progress to the management• Achieving or even exceeding sales targets

My duties:• Visiting customers on a regular basis to maintaining relationships with existing customers and develop new business partnerships • Identifying laboratory equipment-, chemicals- and molecular biology kit needs of customers in molecular research labs of universities and other research institutes• Preparing special price quotations for key customers• Participated in updating the company’s homepage and product catalog (translation of product specifications from English to Hungarian, editing, and designing of the molecular biology chapter of their new product catalog)
