The consultancy was a four-month engagement to oversee and manage the relocation of the Global Platform project from Tamale to Accra. The tasks included, but were not limited to:- Partnership building in Accra, finalisation of partnership agreements and work-plans with national and international partners.- Daily management and organisational restructuring.- Recruitment of a new manager and a new trainer.- Finalisation of 2018 plans and budget, as well as 2017 accounting and reporting.

Tamale - Ghana

The Global Platform is a capacity development facility in Tamale, Ghana, that works with political empowerment of youth, as well as develops, contextualises and runs capacity development training courses for NGO and ActionAid staff.- I was part of the ActionAid Ghana Senior Management Team, where I participated in the strategic organisational discussions, and positioned the Global Platform in the ongoing work.- I managed a team of 5 local and 1 expatriate staff, as well as 7 externally hired support staff.- I was responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with NGO partners.- I was responsible for planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting on finance, HR, and M&E, as well as recruiting.- I was responsible for overseeing curriculum development, ensuring that we met deadlines and that we delivered course manuals and sessions that lived up to the international standards.The Global Platform is an ActionAid Denmark project implemented in a country where there is an existing ActionAid presence. As both organisations are autonomous members of the same federation, there were several differences that my position demanded that I navigated in order to obtain the best mutually beneficial results, these ranged from culture, personnel issues, and finances, as well as different strategic objectives. As the Global Platforms are reliant on supplemental external income, I developed relationships with other NGOs in Ghana and the West African region, to deliver our trainings as consultancy services.

HjerteFrugt was a social business founded with the purpose of delivering fruit, vegetables and flowers on weekly subscriptions to companies, hospitals, schools, events and government institutions. We supported the Children's Cancer Foundation in Denmark, and in turn offered our customers a way to buy products in a way that added value in a CSR and HR perspective. This approach gave us an added value that our competition was not capable of delivering, as well as access to the corporate partners of the Children’s Cancer Foundation. - I founded HjerteFrugt a fruit and vegetable distribution company, customers included offices, schools, hospitals, and events.- I was responsible for the logistics, sourcing of produce, accounting, budgeting, salaries, taxes, and legal issues.

UngeKonsulenterne was a consultancy company with a focus on at-risk teenagers. Our clients were councils and our subjects were youth with extensive social issues. We worked with their whole network, from the family unit to schools and social services, in order to create a framework where the youth could manage their issues, and grow to take responsibility and manage their own lives in adulthood.- I founded a consultancy company with a focus on at-risk youth.- I developed relationships with councils that spanned the length of our contracts; this involved contract negotiation, written reporting of progress and follow-up meetings.- I was the primary consultant on two of our contracts.- I was responsible for the accounting, budgeting, taxes, and salary payments.- I was responsible for interviewing and hiring personnel.

- I managed a group of 8-10 social workers, this included professional coaching, supervision of written reports, and handling of council caseworkers.- I networked with council caseworkers to secure contracts for the company.- I was a social worker for up to 6 youth with a wide range of challenges, this included counselling the parents and working closely with schools and institutions.- I set up a programme where we sent teenagers to Israel to live in the desert with a host family for an extended period. I built the pedagogical foundation, sold it to the councils, and managed all the budgeting, billing and accounting.- I had the responsibility for the company’s institution “Lillevangsgård” two days a week and every second weekend, I would make sure that the institution ran smoothly, that conflicts were resolved and that the weekly house meeting was constructive.- I did public speaking at schools and high schools for students and parents on issues affecting youth.

- I founded a youth club for teenagers who had been kicked out of the council clubs and instead spent their time on the streets.- I was responsible for reporting to donors, accounting, budgeting, meetings with authorities, and all other administrative duties.- I had 50+ volunteers working at the club.- I recruited, trained and motivated the volunteers.
