Mehana Wellness Center (MWC) was founded in 2024 by Norena Gutierrez. Mehana in the Hawaiian language means the “warmth of the sun”. The center provides mental health counseling services for individuals (ages 5 and up), families, and couples as they navigate the transitions in their lives. We provide gender affirming care for the LGBTQ+ community, specializing in our work with trans individuals of color. We are passionate about changing lives for single moms and those touched by adoption and reproductive trauma. The center will also offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy starting in May 2024.

Be Well Therapy and its therapists listen, help, save relationships. We help keep families together, keep people out of jail and hospitals, and reduce depressive and anxiety symptoms. Our therapists help heal individuals, couples and families from traumatic experiences and teach them how to successfully get through life challenges. We focus on how to correct negative thinking and behavior in order to create solutions to life problems and resolve conflict. We specialize in helping people grieve and deal with losses while teaching them how to express emotions in healthy ways.

Moss Counseling is the premier counseling center for gender affirming care. We are affiliated with Charlotte Transgender Health Care and the PATH program providing free services to trans individuals and non-binary individuals. We provide group counseling for trans women and femme non-binary individuals on a b-monthly basis. We provide letters of support for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), and gender affirming surgeries.

Norena has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals, couples, and families. Norena specializes in working with LGBTQ+ and multiracial individuals, couples, and families. She utilizes a collaborative, no-blame approach to help every member in relationship who is struggling with loss of connection, misunderstandings, or previous trauma.

Provide technical claims adjustment training for new hires and strategic update training for 35 analysts processing over 9,000 claims daily. Provide auditing of outsourced organization based on organizational goals. Update and document policies and procedures according to compliance guidelines.

Provided management teams supporting a 200 person call center with the legal and ethical integrity of the company through policy enforcement, training and program planning. Ensured all departments complied with the rules and regulations for the medical billings industry. Responsible for keeping up-to-date with changing laws that affected the collections industry; prepared reports for upper management and implemented corrective action strategies.

Promoted flagship project on Navajo Code Talker Home Renovation Project which attracted over 150 publications including the NY Times, Chicago Tribune, Fox News, etc. to highlight donor giving. Completed new organizational website utilizing weebly.com to improve ease of finding information on how to donate and organization’s updated mission. Managed and wrote numerous grant applications for potential program and operational funding for over $500K. Created crowdfunding and annual membership programs to diversify revenue generation. Developed collateral for multi-use communications on Facebook, Twitter, e-newsletters, etc.

Annually reviewed and analyzed over 300+ grants for consideration of funding by the NEA in Modern Dance, Music and Theater. 100 grants were in consideration of American artists and their companies to travel abroad to International Entertainment Venues. Together with expert professionals in theater and dance, recommended prioritized financial support, improved the remote computer system processes and facilitated reviews. (6 week process annually)

Assigned to Enterprise level working at Senior Leadership levels to support change initiatives in the Supply Chain and Delivery Operations for power utilities firm. Supported PMOs and project managers with communications planning, change management analysis and action planning. Created centralized SharePoint sites and new communications vehicles for all levels of the organization. Initiatives spanned 6 states and over 300 utilities areas utilizing uinque and phased implementations affecting over 10,000 employess and contractors and millions of utility customers. Prepared strategic plans, Business Fundamentals and metrics management.

Provided contract services to write Microsoft Education Services for K-12 teaching professionals. Promoted free products and information for the classroom.

Provided contract services to Hewlett Packard’s Talent Management Vice-President and staff to promote career development, and succession planning of the top 40,000 leaders.

Global HR Communications Manager, (3 years) Senior leader for Global HR and Workforce Development D global initiatives. Responsible for all aspects of management and employee communications from planning to final approvals through a Global HR team representing all businesses and functions. Collaborated with training, compensation, businesses and regions. Wrote and distributed articles and memos. Redesigned and managed websites. Provided communications strategy and implementation for 11 Corporate Functions. Director of Workforce Development Global Communications (5/02 to 10/03) Managed a team of 8 communicators for 3 regions and the 5 businesses of HP. Managed key global communications initiatives during the post-merger time frame such as Focal Point Review, High Performance Workplace and Workforce Development at the New HP. Included responsibility for global messaging and management, vehicle creation and improvement, website management and working through regions and businesses for aligned but tailored messaging. Produced executive briefing copy for CEO and for Vice Presidents as appropriate. Latin America Region HP Services Workforce Development Manager (2 years) Responsible for all aspects of employee / management training, functional training and business training for 10 countries in Latin America. Major roles include portfolio management, development of virtual training and the execution of over 1,000 solutions. Responsible for $2.2 million budget and the development of over 3,000 employees. Responsible for the merger integration planning activities of the region. Workforce Development Learning Consultant, Computing Systems (10/00 to 3/01) Lead consultant of learning plans for all levels of employees. Leading a team of 5 consultants, developed the infrastructure of the team to impact business results. Delivered over 20 management training sessions virtually and face-to-face in the Americas.

Customer Loyalty Manager (3/97 to 10/00) Developed the Americas strategy and improvement processes that retain customers for life and encourage repurchase loyalty to HP products and services. Consulted with business teams to develop strategic plans designed to improve customer loyalty. Significant contribution of designing and developing a web-based tool for worldwide customer loyalty information systems utilized by management and product lines. . Futures Product Manager, LaserJet Supplies Operations (3/96 to 3/97) Business partner of printer teams for strategic product line focus. Worldwide responsibility for new product plans, introductions and implementation of consumer HP LaserJet supplies. Selected and managed promotional/advertising agencies to accomplish business goals in the retail channel. Participated in consumer and large business segmentation identification, reporting and planning. Training & Programs Manager, LaserJet Supplies Operations (11/94 to 3/96) Managed $1.4 million dollar budget for programs; designed and implemented training which set the standard for training in Reseller accounts domestically. Quality & Transition Manager, Boise Site Operations (3/94 to 11/94) Responsible for 750 employees during the closing of manufacturing facility. Led cross-functional teams to ensure all closure process were developed and managed. Quality Manager, North American Response Center (3/91 to 3/94) Managed 75 quality consultants in 5 remote locations to facilitate customer-focused improvements and speed the execution of organizational response to be the industry benchmark. Through strategic consultation and training, significantly improved the quality maturity of a 3,000-employee organization by 36%.
