Heartland REACT is an all volunteer communications team using a HAM two-way radio network to assist in communications at various events throughout Douglas and Sarpy counties in Nebraska.  Primary responsibility is we are spotters for the National Weather Service, Douglas and Sarpy county emergency operations and Omaha area TV stations during tornadic or severe weather events. Assist with communications and traffic control at various charity events in Omaha like the Corporate Cup Run and Cinco De Mayo Parade. Recently elected to the Board of Directors. Licensed HAM radio operator. Designed and developed client specific data conversion routines and data conversion reports. The data conversions were to convert new clients' policy portfolios onto Perot's processing application. Primarily responsible for converting the life insurance financial transactions as well as providing data validation for both Perot personnel and the clients. Assigned as lead programmer/analyst in an effort to convert a Variable Life Insurance application, both on-line and batch, from a Microfocus platform into Perot's proprietary Lifesys life insurance processing application.  Consulted with business and technical associates at all levels of the company to overcome any issues related to the success of the project. Responsible for maintaining a comprehensive test bed for all testing activities comprising over 180 datasets.  Completed all data conversion programming and analysis from Microfocus VSAM files to Perot's proprietary data storage management system.  After noting that much of the programming being completed off-shore was not being tested thoroughly I designed, communicated and implemented procedures and checklists to be completed by off-shore personnel prior to implementing their code changes. Responsible for all batch quality assurance activities for ACI's Payments Manager product.  Executed all system, integration and user/requester acceptance test cycles.  Maintained test beds for all cycles. Implemented and maintained source and object code libraries for all cycle environments. Coordinated test efforts with business and technical associates to create the necessary test conditions and verify test results. Noticed the need for a cross-reference of the payments manager application that could benefit the entire organization. For lack of a better option, using Microsoft Excel I designed, built and maintained a cross-reference of all screens, modules, database tables, files and control members for the entire application. Directed a team of programmers and analysts in the creation of batch and on-line programs developed to satisfy custom client requirements. Reduced the training time for new employees from 12 weeks to four weeks by designing, writing and teaching a structured training program for all phases of the departments software development. Prior to becoming a Team Leader, performed various programmer and analyst activities for both batch and on-line programs.
