Developing countries could build a robust economy around NH3 which serves as a fuel for power generation and transportation, a cost-effective fertilizer to enable 5x agricultural food production, and as a cost-effective means for long-term storage of intermittent renewable energy.

Led technical efforts to conduct energy audits and implement an energy efficiency retrofit program in all state-owned buildings. This represented an investment of $100's of millions of dollars, a rate-of-return on investment of >15%, and $100's of millions of energy savings for Iowans.Led biomass production (forage sorghum) and conversion system demonstration and education program efforts.
