I jumped at the opportunity to become an executive leader in this small-sized growth company, where I was a leader in shaping the specifics of the engineering function, including organization, planning and execution. - Rehosted the Content Management System, which consisted of 100+ microservices and thousands of Customer tenants, to AWS over a 9 months period. - Refactored the Content Management System database from Cloudant to DocumentDB. This complex piece of engineering included developing the data migration software, developing the DB test validation software for all the various DBs, and migrating the thousands of individual system DBs that supported our customer base. - Lead the innovation and development of the Campaign Message Composer marketing email capability, which garnered rave Customer reviews. This major project required coordinated prioritization and development leadership across 2 product teams.- Key leader in building a new development lab in Gdansk, Poland, scaling to 125 engineers over 12 months.- Managed 3 major development partners.- Responsible for management of cloud infrastructure expenses

Our biggest enterprise customers came from key industries such as banks, insurance, health care, manufacturing, technology, logistics and government. Over the years, our customers went from requiring highly customized on-premise platforms under their control to cloud-based delivery managed by IBM. This required a fresh technology approach as well as new development processes.- We built the Digital Experience portfolio into a profit powerhouse generating over $300 million in yearly revenue.- Transformed development organization and processes while supporting $300M revenue stream.- Modernized offerings for multi-tenancy, high availability and scalability using microservice-based off-the-shelf services (Kafka, Graylog, Cloudant DB, New Relic Monitoring, Okta Identity, Akamai CDN, etc).- Adopted continuous integration/continuous delivery model (improved release cycle from quarterly to daily).- Built a highly automated delivery pipeline, including continual automated testing/monitoring/alerting.- Reduced support costs and customer critical situations.In 2017, IBM made a strategic decision to focus on cloud, and sold off on-premise products across the company, including the IBM Digital Experience Platform. I was responsible for the engineering organization deep dive disclosures with the buyer. As the liaison for IBM in this logistically complicated carve-out, I oversaw the transition period of the engineering team and systems while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
