Creative executive director with a record of transformative change: Led organization through staff restructuring and rebranding, including new name, new logo, and new website. Inspired staff to develop creative marketing initiatives and donor outreach and engaging new programming. Managed all aspects of an accredited (American Alliance of Museums) museum renowned as the largest maritime museum on the Great Lakes and a Smithsonian Affiliate. Led the museum in setting record attendance; expanding programming; raising funding through innovative joint grant proposals with municipality, public school district, and other cultural organizations.Served as architect's consultant on a project to design a new maritime museum in Florida.Frequent contributor to Santa Barbara News-Press and Wisconsin Gannett newspapers on nonprofit management and nonprofit legal issues.

Served on the commissioning committee for the Navy's first littoral combat ship, USS Freedom, built by Marinette Marine in Marinette, WI. (View the launch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMusbHeQlKs) The ship was commissioned in Milwaukee, WI on November 8, 2006.

Managed all aspects of a popular maritime museum. Led the museum through expansive master planning process and major exhibit build-out. Initiated a harbor redevelopment project in partnership with the business community that received $2M in funding.

IRS TAP members are volunteer subject matter experts who identify and focus on specific issues through Project and Joint Committee work. Members use key findings to make recommendations and provide direct input to the IRS on new and existing IRS programs and initiatives.In addition to speaking with taxpayers, conducting research, and ongoing planning, Project Committee members meet approximately once per month to discuss current projects, progress on key issues and future happenings.

Served on the Board of Directors, assisting with Public Affairs, during sponsorship of the commissioning activities for the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76).

Organized and advised a variety of nonprofit clients: Research foundations, private foundations, charter schools, social service providers, environmental advocates; and organizations active in women's education and rights in foreign countries. Adjunct professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara; developed the curriculum for Nonprofit Finance & Fundraising class in the Nonprofit Management certificate program. Presenter at California State Bar Convention; worked with Santa Barbara County Nonprofit Support Center and the Ventura County Community Foundation to provide workshops for nonprofits on a wide variety of topics.

Served on the Board of Directors; completed advocate training; helped to support fundraising through special events; participated in advocate appreciation/recognition activities.

Associate Attorney worked on the largest environmental class-action, toxic tort case in California at that time, plaintiffs vs. Rocketdyne, Rockwell, Boeing.

As a contracted employee to the DoD, advised local governmental entities on reuse and redevelopment of a closing military base. Worked with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the highest and best use of prime real estate resulting in preservation of an historic district, creation of a wildlife refuge on the shores of San Francisco Bay, and industrial and commercial reuse of major facilities (port, airfield).

Served in a variety of billets. Among my collateral duties were several major Judge Advocate General (JAG) investigations.
