Teaching: I have recently taught courses in Conservation Biology, Ecology, and Austin Environmental Issues. I also supervise graduate students.Research: My research is in plant population and community ecology, including demographic models, invasive species, endangered species, woody plant encroachment in savannas, and the joint effects of fire, herbivory, and other factors on plant populations and communities. Most of our field research is conducted in the savannas and woodlands of the eastern Edwards Plateau in central Texas.
