• Manage all aspects of the payroll process• Ensure accuracy of payroll information, pay adjustments, bonus and manual check processing• Generate payroll reporting to management as requested• Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SOX and internal audit• Reconciliation of payroll liability accounts in the General Ledger including journal entries• Reconciliation and audit of the payroll tax deposits, quarterly for federal and state unemployment tax filings by the vendor.

Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for 8000 employees and $47 million payroll in multi-site locations. Manage all facets of the daily operations of the payroll department.Responsible for timely and accurate payroll processing, including on cycle, off cycle and bonus.Ensure the accurate payment of employee benefits including 401(k) funding and annual compliance reportingPrepare and responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of payroll tax deposits, quarterly for federal and state unemployment tax filings.Quarterly/annually reconcile Federal or state/Local deposits with W2 listings Meet all government reporting requirements for payroll taxes withholding and employer contributions and payroll garnishments. Maintain payroll internal control. Keep abreast of changes in Federal, State and Local payroll and tax regulations to ensure compliance.Oversee and coordinate the implementation and enhancement of the payroll system due to changes in tax laws and regulations. Make necessary changes to the payroll policies and upstream improvement opportunities.Responsible for hiring, training and development of staff; handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year, and monitor and report on performance.Month end reconciliations of GL payroll accounts. Tax credits: Empowerment Zone, HIRE Act and FICA tax credit.
