• Implement the Resident Self-Sufficiency Program (RSS) according to the Housing Authority’s ROSS Resident Self-Sufficiency Work Plan. • Serve as a family advocate/case manager for the families enrolled in the Resident Self-Sufficiency Program • Oversees, tracks and monitors relationships with partnering agencies providing services and resources to resident and resident programs.• Prepares and submits required HUD, and other reports as needed and maintains accurate records. • Conducts special studies and makes recommendations concerning the development of specific programs for residents to teach them to be self-sufficient, determine goals and the needs of individual families.• Conduct and evaluate resident needs assessment, conduct one-on-one interviews and identify individual and community needs. •• • Coordinate and evaluate special events for families and youth. Family Fun Days; Fall Festival; Neighborhood Night Out; Thanksgiving and Christmas meal events• Identify and apply for grants to assist residents • Plan and evaluate special events for elderly, disabled and families • Prepare monthly activity calendars and newsletters. • Works closely with all property managers and assistant managers to ensure that residents are receiving services. • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

A public housing manager is responsible for the oversight of all administrative and management of public housing apartment/property operations. This includes managing any services--rental, work program, and maintenance staff work requests--public housing units or apartments. It is critical for the housing manager to ensure all regulations are adhered to per HUD when it comes to providing adequate housing for low to moderate income families.
