Since 2013, Norma has been the driving force behind the Planet On Environmental Film Festival in Colombia, introducing over 100 audiovisual works throughout seven editions of the Festival. The event has attracted acclaimed international directors and established a platform for the emerging genre of environmental films.Following the completion of her Master's degree, sponsored by Chevening, Norma has been at the forefront of discussions on sustainable productions in Film and TV within the Colombian film industry since 2019. Though initially an unfamiliar topic within the national sector, her persistent efforts have raised awareness and made significant strides in this area. Norma has delivered keynote speeches at Ficci and Bam, and spearheaded the first research on sustainability in Colombia's national industry in 2020 – the first study of its kind in the country, funded by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia.Norma's study now features as a co-authored chapter titled 'The Sustainability Challenges in the Colombian in the edited collection Film and Television Production in the Age of the Climate Crisis: Towards a Greener Screen (Kaapa and Vaughan, 2022, Springer). This collection highlights experiences from various countries where the film industry is actively seeking ways to reduce its carbon emissions – a research area Norma is passionate about and plans to further develop....Desde 2013, Norma ha sido la fuerza impulsora detrás del Festival de Cine Ambiental Planet On en Colombia, presentando más de 100 obras audiovisuales a lo largo de seis ediciones del Festival. El evento ha atraído a reconocidos directores internacionales y ha establecido una plataforma para el emergente género de películas ambientales.Después de completar su maestría, patrocinada por Chevening, Norma ha estado a la vanguardia de las discusiones sobre producciones ecológicas en Cine y TV dentro de la industria cinematográfica colombiana desde 2019. Aunque inicialmente era un tema desconocido en el sector nacional, sus esfuerzos persistentes han generado conciencia y logrado avances significativos en esta área. Norma ha ofrecido discursos como oradora principal en Ficci y Bam, y lideró la primera investigación sobre sostenibilidad en la industria nacional de Colombia en 2020, siendo el primer estudio de este tipo en el país, financiado por el Ministerio de Cultura de Colombia.
