The GE Hudson River Remediation Project is one of largest environmental dredging projects in U.S. history. The project entails dredging PCB contaminated materials from the Hudson River and associated canals, including installing related backfilling, capping and shoreline protection. Assembled fifty person management team to coordinate and direct 150 craft and subcontractors each dredging year. Crews are required to work on two 12 hour shifts, six days per week. The project required the mobilization of 8 dredges, 17 hopper barges, 8 deck barges, 22 tug boats, and 18 support vessels as well as the development of several shore side support locations.. To date, 1.2 Million cubic yards has been dredged and 850,000 tons of backfill, cap and habitat material installed.
