Working at Worldnet I have developed and expended my experience ten fold.I am in charge of their London and Paris offices' IT systems as well as supporting the bespoke transport management system. Due to time differences, I also support the New York and Los Angeles offices.I started working remotely from South Africa learning the systems, processes and procedures.After some months and a solid grasp on the department model (ITIL), I was moved to the UK to assist in the acquisition and integration of the London office systems as well as the further development of the Paris office.Since being onboarded in 2016 I have been involved in developing, testing and implementing the bespoke transport management system in the London and Paris office. Actively coordinating between offices and departments to optimise the transition from the resourced solution to the bespoke.The IT department is especially adept at working remotely.

I taught english to all ages as an after school activity or part time for adults, and as a subject teacher in a kindergarten.This was a fantastic opportunity to travel the world and work at the same time.Having switched industries also challenged me to learn and develope new skills quickly.I learned much about public speaking and managing a team.

At first I started as a call centre support technician for the Transport management software (Parcel Perfect) developed by Adept Software. This entaied shift based work to:- Maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair linux (red hat) servers in remote locations (Asia, Europe, Africa and the USA) using software called Nagios and Replmon.- An assumed responsibility to assist businesses with IT systems and network troubleshooting and repairing when they had no IT department.- Maintain and configure a Microsoft 2012 AD server for terminal services.- Running SQL queries for analysis of firbird database.- Backup, restore and defragment firebird databases on remote linux servers using PuTy.- Managing ticket queue in Jira.- Bug reporting of TMS software then later rendition testing of the fix.- Configuration correction and general software support.- Training of customers and creating the documention for the training.After +/- 2 years I became more involved in the setup and maintenance of new customers, eventually moving into the implementation team whilst still supporting the call centre.I was responsible for the above as well as:- Onsite visits to setup new servers.- Onsite training for configuration, maintenance and use of the TMS software.
