 Promoted to Director in October 2013 Built a Compliance program and developed policies and procedures for the company and its clients to meet the requirements of the ITAR, the EAR, FTR, OFAC, and other government regulations.  Implemented an auditing program for shipments reported to AES.  Investigate, wrote, and submitted voluntary self-disclosures to government regulators when violations were detected through risk assessments and audits. Developed a Customer Screening application to review business partners through various U.S. and international government watch lists, including the EPLS, the SDN list, and many others. Provided support in sales meetings for defense contractors shipping cargo subject to license requirements.  Supported Security initiatives to meet recommended best practices established by the TSA and C-TPAT.  Trained employees annually on the company’s Ethics and FCPA policies.  Prepared monthly reports for review by the company’s senior management team. Supervised the development of National’s internal Customs Brokerage Company. Acts as National’s “Empowered Official” to the DDTC. Initiated and cultivated National’s ocean shipping operations to comply with the requirements mandated by the Federal Maritime Commission. Merged the company’s Security and Export Compliance programs into one department and conducted a comprehensive risk assessment of National’s TSA compliance. Provide support and direction to other regions with the management of regulatory requirements applicable in other countries in the company’s supply chain. Consults with and provides guidance to customers looking to enrich their internal import/export compliance programs. Authored and continuously improves the Company’s corporate policies to ensure compliance with legislative amendments. Provided oversight to the company’s compliance team, and regularly provides guidance on regulatory matters to the operations and service departments.
