I am warranted Contract Officer with the US Government, under the Department of Transportation's, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and have prior experience in the same field under the US Agency for International Development. In these capacities, I’ve had the opportunity to work on multiple, highly complex procurement activities ranging from small, sole-source awards to, highly complex, globe-spanning, IDIQ’s worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Work at the NHTSA has been in an amazing environment, working with some of the most competent experts in the automotive industry. Meanwhile, the excellent opportunities at USAID allowed for experience around the world: with TDY’s supporting local mission work being accomplished in Haiti, Jordan and Ethiopia. Every region around the world has unique characteristics, and requires unique understanding of culture, needs, history and people. An solid foundation for this understanding was laid while earning my MBA at Thunderbird School of Global Management; where I had the opportunity to see, first-hand, unique business environments around the world. Principally, participating in a student program to assist the Jordanian Government, Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation. These top-down approaches and experiences though, are tempered by two years living in rural Japan: working directly with people at a level not possible when working at federal or global level. It allows one to put a real face behind the people we work to serve. Finally, I have been extremely fortunate to have had experiences allowing me to work with people from both directions: from feeling the dirt of Caribbean roads under my shoes, to the most sophisticated automotive test facility in the United States and the neckties of offices in US Embassies and foreign ministries.
