Biographic Sketch 2024 – Norman NgNorman is a passionate advocate for lung cancer patients, driven by his personal journey as a stage 4 lung cancer survivor with an ALK-positive mutation. In recognition of the urgent needs within the community, he founded the Lung Cancer Patient Concern Group in Hong Kong, aiming to enhance patient advocacy and promote cancer survivorship.With over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Norman has established a robust healthcare communication digital platform, "Healthcare Thinkers". This initiative serves as a vital space for engaging and interacting with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and awareness within the healthcare community.A firm believer in the principle that "life affects life," Norman is dedicated to leveraging his extensive network to support cancer patients and their caregivers. He is particularly passionate about advocating for prevention, screening and drug access, ensuring that patients receive the treatment they need.In addition to his advocacy work, Norman volunteers with the Hong Kong Cancer Fund, where he finds fulfillment in connecting with fellow cancer survivors. His commitment to education and mentorship is further exemplified by his role as a Practicum Supervisor for the Master of Public Health Program at City University, where he aims to inspire and guide the next generation of public health professionals.Norman remains committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others, tirelessly working towards a healthier future for cancer patients in Hong Kong and beyond.Entering 60 means nothing more than good health. You will eventually have to retire, and your thoughts and behaviors will begin to adjust. Hong Kong is a blessed place. We have excellent medical professionals and I grow up in a medical family. Under the influence I have been engaged in medical and health education for over 30years. My first job was with Consumer Council as a Research Office specialised in medical and healthcare products. After that, I joined a multinational pharmaceutical company which empowered me to build many medical connections with doctors, pharmacists and healthcare professionals. My parents practiced primary health in the grassroots community in Sham Shui Po for over 50 years decades. I asked myself what are you pursuing in life? What can I give back to the society? I am also experiencing life, ageing ,illness and death. How much wealth in the bank account is enough? Heavenly Father has opened a way for me and given me a lot. Let’s learn together!
