I continue to take on more responsibility within the company and am now managing most of the company's ordinary operations. I still report to the CEO of the company, my father, who was previously CEO and President. I am involved in most areas of the company, including HR, accounting, legal, marketing, purchasing, and warehouse operations, for a company with around 30 employees spread over about 15 locations across the country and a rapidly growing online sales division. Due to the challenges of COVID to brick and mortar, we are focusing more and more on our online sales.

I moved back to my hometown of Toledo, Ohio to work with my father in a family business started by my great-grandfather. We operate retail watch and jewelry repair departments in malls across the country. I am serving in a junior executive role, where I fill a number of functions. Some of my main areas of work have included recruiting talent, building internet-based sales, analyzing scheduling, developing sales strategy, advertising, strategic planning, tracking and analyzing sales data, mystery shopping, and developing new products. My roles shift over time to meet the needs of the business.I really love this job because I get to work with my father every day, I face a wide variety of challenges in my work, I get to meet and interact with many different people, and I deal with very practical challenges. I enjoy traveling around the country to visit our departments. I also have the ability to influence the direction of the company in a way that wasn't possible when I was a professor.
