My experience:most aspects of public librarianship including, but not limited to acquisitions, reference, audiovisual promotion, public relations, fundraising, and branch supervision. School librarianship for me has been rather more like special library service in that my employer - the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities - is a highly selective public high school with a dynamic faculty and staff supporting individual growth. The school admission criteria do not inlcude socio-economic status. Talent is the key and artistic and academic growth are the expected outcomes. My goals: To create links that are student centered for new high school graduates to move seemlessly and with research capabilitiers intact to the college, university, conservatory or professional setting. To that end, I am an active member of the Arts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Division of the American Library Association (ALA).Specialties: Collection Management, librarian training, faculty development.
