All organizations have enormous room for improvement in this area, a new insight which is often a surprise, since everyone thinks they already do a great job in problem solving. Once clients recover from the initial shock, they benefit from their personnel being trained in simple techniques that significantly improve not just the effectiveness of problem solving, but the efficient use of limited resources in doing so. Considered a thought leader and subject matter expert, I am a consultant, trainer and internationally sought-after speaker in the areas of safety performance measurement and improvement, risk and project management, incident investigation, organizational learning, loss prevention, problem solving and human performance factors.I was a contributing author to the 2020 "One Percent Safer" book project and was honored to be named the American Society of Safety Professionals 2020/21 Safety Professional of the Year (SPY) for the Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas region, and the Gulf Coast Chapter. Selected by Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE) as a 2023-24 Distinguished Lecturer on the topic "Learning From Incidents: Pragmatic Inclusion of Human & Organizational Performance".
