Simply put, my vision was to change our district from average with pockets of excellence to one of system wide excellence where every employee creates a fulfilling career for themselves by assisting each student to rise to their individual potential. Adams 12 is now the fastest improving large school district in CO and just passed Jeffco schools in academic performance. Great people working in a great culture has made a tremendous difference in the lives of 10's of thousands of students. We specifically oversaw the superintendent and delegated the day-to-day operations to him. The board has a fiduciary duty to the citizens living within the Adams 12 boundaries and we occasionally had to act in a quasi-judicial capacity. Along with being an 8-year officer I was also the board liaison to the Finance and Audit Committee (FAC) and to the American Indian Parent Advisory Committee (AIPAC).Our greatest impact though comes from three primary efforts. We provide the organizational vision and mission for the school district. We are responsible for crafting policy to achieve the vision and mission. We also work with management to craft and support strategic decisions and foster the changes necessary to create organizational and service excellence for our stakeholders, staff, and most importantly - our students.Prior to my election to the school board I volunteered for over 10 years and held leadership positions in the parent accountability group and the budget advisory group. -

I began this company with my brother to continue to serve the many loyal customers of our father's contracting business, Bob Jennings Construction, after he moved to Nebraska. I was able to add design services to the family residential contracting business and expand our customer base. We specialized in kitchens, bathrooms, general remodeling, basements, decks, outbuildings, and additions.We got all of our business through word of mouth referral so customer service is critical. During the design phase we worked closely with clients. They were included in the design phase in a meaningful way as our ArchiCAD's design software allows us to view the project with them in plan, elevation, and 3-D. We made changes on the fly and explained the cost ramifications of various design options during our on-site meetings with clients. As a design/build company we took a measured approach to design to ensure that our client's money is spent where they can enjoy it most. When customers remember a project for its value it means you've exceeded their expectations, but if they remember it for its cost it means they didn't get their money's worth.

Project ManagerLeap Associates International, Inc. Jan 1990 - Dec 1999Greater Denver AreaSee more recent tenure at LEAP for company description. During this time frame the Denver office was significantly larger which provided the support staff available for larger projects. My greatest success during this time was a 2000 bed prison cell project in Utah. On top of the usual project coordination, prisons require additional trade coordination in the cell modules. I drew all all the submittal drawings for this project then flew to Salt Lake City for a meeting with the owners, architect, and consultants and presented our submittal which resulted in a rapid turnaround. I then drew 95% of the fabrication drawings. The client requested additional information to be sent with the cell module fabrication drawings beyond our usual scope. Despite the extra work and cell connection changes during the production drawing phase this project was completed early and 35% under budget.
