I began with the company in January 2008 as an Early Morning Dispatcher and Driver and was promoted to Transport Site Coordinator in July 2008.Key Responsibilities:• Leading a team of eight (six drivers and two dispatch storemen) • Mentoring and coaching transport staff to achieve KPIs and grow their skills • Promoting and demonstrating positive disciplinary procedures in accordance with company policy• Conducing fortnightly meetings, quarterly one-on-ones and salary reviews (when due) with staff• Promoting and operating an effective two way communication network and team environment• Identifying and meeting customer transport needs and ensuring product/stock is received on time• Planning and managing the positioning of inward /outward goods for distribution• Ensuring that inward/outwards goods are processed as per the depot procedures• Calculating fleet utilisation and compiling and implementing weekly work rosters• Scheduling planned maintenance and planning temporary drivers to meet seasonal demands• Plan and manage the depot operating hours in accordance with the budget• Operating the fork hoist according to company procedures• Ensuring that staff adhere to Health and Safety practices and that hazards are handled correctlyI also ran the Hamilton-based Fruit Case Company for a time, looking after returns, transfers, crate orders, bins and pallets.
