This pioneered the "Direct Primary Care" movement. With i-Human Patients, the flagship service, medical students (and students in other health care professions) fully develop critical patient assessment and diagnostic reasoning competencies. Students interview a virtual patient about her medical history and symptoms, perform virtual physical exams using a variety of simulated devices, develop hypotheses on what’s causing the problem(s), order and review tests, confirm diagnoses, and develop treatment plans. The system provides guidance and feedback at every step of the way, and gives faculty an objective evaluation of student performance. While Qliance improves the cost and quality of healthcare, IHP improves access to healthcare by helping to build our supply of highly trained physicians.
