Working closely with the VP Marketing, I supported the marketing team during the company's rebranding, aimed to develop a strong consumer-focused brand that would resonate strongly with North American homeowners. In my role as Media and Community Manager, I developed and executed results-driven digital communications and PR strategies for the new brand. The role was largely focused on content strategy and creation with the goal of driving an engaged community of brand advocates on multiple channels including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, ecobee's blog and bi-weekly newsletters. The role also had a strong media relations and key influencer component in order to drive press/blog coverage and build relationships with key opinion leaders. As a key member of our small marketing team - with a big mandate - the job didn't stop with each team members' specific role. I had the opportunity to touch on many areas of marketing from brand strategy, copywriting, event management, internal communications, issues and crisis management, SEO strategy, to name a few!

As PR Manager at Venture, I was responsible for planning and executing communication and public relation initiatives for a wide variety of clients. My role focused strongly on media relations and digital communications. In order to achieve and surpass expected monthly results, I was passionate about creating timely, newsworthy content for new and traditional media. Clients included:- Mayo Clinic- Deloitte- Regus- Breakfast Clubs of Canada- Reliance Home Comfort- Cement Association of Canada- Marble Slab Creamery - OMG's Candy- Sporting Life- Prairie ToyotaI also worked closely with the PR Director to research new business opportunities.

As PR Consultant at Hill & Knowlton, I worked in the B2B and B2C space for Fortune 500 brands (mostly technology) including:- Motorola Canada- Hewlett-Packard- Intel Canada- Michelin Tires - Symantec I engaged in proactive media outreach including story idea generation, pitch writing for editorial calendars and writing press materials. I also developed key relationships with the Canadian consumer and technology media and influencers.I used a number of PR tools for coverage reporting and media list building including FPInfomart, Cision and Media Relations Point Ratings (MRP).
