In addition to my own company, I design for Kittleson Landscape, a landscape contractor installing projects in Madison, Dane County and Lake Wisconsin for over 25 years. We build retaining walls of limestone and wall blocks and patios of pavers by Rockwood, Unilock and Belgard , garden ponds and lo-voltage lighting. Every year there is something new for landscapes. This year look for permeable pavers which allow water to soak into the ground, as well as rainwater harvesting which collects rain for re-use. For many years my creativity has been channeled into outdoor spaces. I work in plants, stones and other materials to design residential landscapes. It is important that these spaces utilize design elements and are not just thrown together. Color, texture and patterns are seen in my work.Recovering from surgery two years ago, I looked for something creative that I could do in lieu of TV and books. I bought some jewelry supplies and began creating, had fun with the process and was pleased with the results. Originally I just wanted necklaces that I could wear that looked really good with the colors of my clothes. I have never worn much silver or gold jewelry, preferring inexpensive, colorful, somewhat different things. Then this “hobby” got out of hand. I bought more different (gem) stones and other pieces for my jewelry. I design with a person or type/color of clothing in mind, so each one is different. As of now I am only designing necklaces and earrings. I am learning about the energy of the various stones. I plan to write a small card that will be attached to each piece suggesting that the stones will enhance certain emotions. Because each piece is unique, I would like to seek out commission work, designing for other women.

I recently re-activated my distributor account with Young Living. I personally use the therapeutic oils to minimize physical and emotional situations. They are not drugs, and they do not cure. But they sure do help. My primary purpose is to educate people in the use of therapeutic essential oils and their value to one's health. There are other products, such as supplements and an anti-microbial cleaning product that are available from the company.
