From leading the acquisition of 3 prime targets, increasing the company’s presence in the renewable energy space, and opening 6 greenfield locations to driving impressive revenue and EBITDA growth, I successfully spearheaded new vision, mission, strategies, objectives, and action plans. I previously led United Rentals’ Services & Advanced Solutions Group—successfully turning around the industry-leading United Academy, coalescing and growing a singular Customer Equipment Solutions organization, and building out an effective Advanced Solutions Group. Even during challenges imposed by COVID, record performance and results were attained in all 3 arenas.As CEO of Riwal, a €270 million global equipment rental and sales company, I led the company to its best financial results in more than 40 years. We achieved this by driving large-scale, enterprise-wide change and implementing the gold standard of customer service (“The Riwal Way” program) across a 17-country enterprise. During my 17 years with Hertz Equipment Rental in the US and EMEA, I developed several of the company’s most profitable operations and devised strategies that opened up new markets and lucrative opportunities. What hasn’t changed over the years is the approach that I bring to every challenge: confidence, conviction, and contagious enthusiasm. Performance highlights include:* Implementing United Academy’s Learning Management System—managing transition to and launch of a virtual training platform (SaaS cloud-based) that delivers industry-leading training to more than 90K students annually. Collaborating with internal Digital and IT resources, a technology product was launched concurrent with the requirement to transition from 85% in-person instruction to 100% virtual with the advent of COVID. Bottom-line results included significant increases in revenue and EBITDA.* Assessing and then managing merger of 2 independent business groups to create one Customer Equipment Solutions group, UR’s companywide technical fleet and equipment solutions service.
