I supported UNICEF Pakistan in development of the 2013-2017 Country  Programme and related Situational Analysis (SitAn). The SitAn formed the basis of UNICEF's five-year country programme cycle and was launched in 2013 in the federal and all provincial capitals of the country.  I proof-read, edited, designed and finalised the national report along with provincial chapters for mass printing and distribution.

The CIDA funded HIV and AIDS Surveillance Project (HASP) in 2010/11 collected HIV behavioral and biological data from most at-risk populations from 20 cities across Pakistan. The project was implemented in partnership with the University of Manitoba, Pro-Action and the Public Health Agency of Canada. As the Laboratory Coordinator, I managed the laboratory quality assurance program for dried blood sample testing, for over 20,000 samples. Identified and validated testing laboratories, coordinated specimen distribution to the testing laboratories, managed the quality of DBS collection and shipment from the field. Ensured timely distribution of laboratory supplies in the field. As the Principal Investigator/National Coordinator ANC Study) I ensured smooth running of the ANC surveillance by coordinating with the field, provincial and district coordinators in all the nine districts.

I carried out a desk review of the measles and tetanus surveillance system, analysed surveillance data and conducted field visits.  I shared findings of the desk and field review with stakeholders in the form of a report which provided recommendations and technical advice on how to strengthen the current surveillance system

I was part of the management to establish a functional HIV Referral Laboratory in Pakistan. The laboratory had six main objectives: HIV reference testing, quality assurance, training technical staff, integrated data management, surveillance and research. I supervised laboratory staff, HIV diagnostic testing, coordinated surveillance data from across Pakistan, and trained technical staff in the field of HIV Diagnosis.
