A mid-career professional with an advanced degree in international law and a passion towards international criminal law & international humanitarian law. My professional experience lies in the migration & refugee field and international criminal justice, specifically on combating transnational organized crime, illicit trafficking and terrorism. I have provided legal & policy advice on national anti-trafficking and child protection laws, as well as penal codes of governments across Eastern Africa, resulting in Comoros criminalizing trafficking, Kenya amending its anti-trafficking legislation, Tanzania introducing stronger sentencing provisions for convicted traffickers and developing a national anti-trafficking plan of action.I have legal research and analysis experience on issues related to child trafficking, including commercial sexual exploitation and child sex tourism, forced marriage, forced begging, forced criminality, forced labor & the nexus between terrorism & transnational organized crime.
